Will His Pure Love Change Her Hatred Part 19

Chapter 19

Geet: Dev, please leave me alone for some time.

Dev left with Raghu feeling contended that now Geet will hate Maan and he will get her back. He thought of giving her time to get adjusted to the facts and then she would come running to him for a shoulder to cry on.

As soon as Dev left Geet fell on her knees tears streaming down her eyes. Her heart refused to believe all the accusations. It spoke in Maan’s defense “He didn’t even once care about himself when he carried me to the hospital, his stitches tore, his wounds were bleedings but yet he suffered all just to save me“. Her brain “But was it his guilt“. Her heart “If he is as ruthless as that man claims, would he feel guilty??” Her brain was speechless. Her heart continued “He didn’t even once rise his voice on me whatever I may have done“. “He didn’t even touch me despite all my provocations that night“. “He hurt himself so badly just to keep my word“. “He so easily forgave me and Anath for the whole MMS thing“. “How can such a genuine person be so ruthless?

Her mind tried “But may be in a drunken state“. Her heart “Everywhere I have read that he doesn’t drink. Even I have ever seen him drink“. Her soul screamed “No, he can’t do this. No he just can’t, I won’t believe it. I will confront him. I will ask him to say that I am right. Yes… he will confirm my heart.

She wiped her tears and with this determination she left for his office. He was in the conference room. She barged in despite the reception stopping her. Maan looked at her, one look and he understood something was amiss. Looking at her condition, hair blown, no care for her dress, harassed face, eyes brimming with tears, he knew something was terribly wrong.

Reception: Sir I tried to stop her but…

Maan: It’s ok. (to his staff) We will continue this meeting later.

They all left the conference room leaving Maan and Geet alone. As soon as all left.

Maan: Kya hua Geet?

Though she had crashed into his office but now she no longer had the guts to ask him. Her heart knew that he was innocent so won’t she hurt him by asking him the truth. Already she had hurt him so much that she didn’t want to agonize him further, he looked so happy. She turned around facing her back to him silent tears rolling down her cheeks. Maan went around she dipped her head. Maan very gently held her chin and raised her face.

Maan (wiping her tears): Kya baat hai Geet. Tum itni pareshan kyun ho?

She didn’t have the heart to question him and lowered her eyes not able to meet his questioning gaze.

Maan (getting very tensed): Geet you are scaring me, please speak up.

Geet: nahi, its nothing.

Maan (holding her shoulders): Geet you can tell me or ask me anything, please don’t stress yourself, just say it.

Geet (finally meeting her eyes): Maan, what happened that night of the accident?

Maan was shocked at her question and didn’t know how to answer it. He had always feared that one day she may ask about it but he wasn’t prepared to answer it, he couldn’t tell her the truth nor could he ever lie to her.

Geet: Please Maan, tell me.

Maan turned around not able to meet her piercing gaze afraid that she might reach the secret buried deep in his heart. Geet went around.

Geet: I know it was not your fault, please say so.

Maan’s silence was killing her now.

Geet: Maan please, damn it tell me, you are innocent. Please ek baar bool doh, I beg of you.

He just stood there still as a lifeless statue. He was dying each second seeing her suffer, yet he could do nothing to console her. Oh God… could someone be more helpless than him. He was torturing the person he worshipped. He begged God to help him. Geet grabbed his collar and started shaking him.

Geet: Ek baar keh do, it wasn’t your fault (shaking him viguorously)

Bool bhi do… nahi toh mein marjaonge. Please kuch toh bolo (she fell on her knees breaking all the buttons of his shirt)

Geet: Please kuch toh bolo, tumari chupi meri jaan le legi.

Tears fell from Maan’s eyes as if he was living her pain. His silence was tormenting her soul, he couldn’t bear to see her in pain nor could he speak up. “Oh God, why are you doing this to me? Help me Please“. Maan fell on his knees.

Maan: Please don’t cry Geet.

Geet: Then why don’t you tell me the truth that your eyes are speaking. Tumhari aakhon mein mujhe tumhari begunahi dikhai de rahi hai, toh tum kuch bolte kyun nahi. Please ek baar keh do. I swear I will never ask you for anything else, please for once say that it wasn’t your fault.

Maan: Tum roho mat please.

He extended his hands to wipe her tears but she shook her head in negative. Each passing moment was killing her, torturing her. It felt as if someone was slowly injecting poison in her veins and it was overcoming her senses. She wasn’t able to accept his silence. “No he is innocent, I know it“, her soul screamed. She got up from there and ran out.

Maan just sat there on his knees thinking “Meri aankhon mein meri bebasi nahi dekhi tumne.“, his hand extended but he couldn’t stop her, what was he to say to stop her, that if he had picked up that phone call that night nothing would have happened. Why … why didn’t he pick up.

He banged his hand on the ground not able to control his helplessness on causing so much anguish and pain to her. He cursed himself wanting to die that very instant for making her suffer so much.

Geet ran out. (song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKxiFpECBw4 )

Zindagi mein koi kabhi aaye na rabba
Aaye jo koi to phir jaye na rabba
Dene ho agar mujhe baad mein aansoon
Toh pehele koyi hasaaye na rabba

Toh pehele koyi hasaaye na rabba

She didn’t know what she was doing or where she was going.

Jaate jaate koi meri khushiyon ko le gaya
Suni suni akhiyon ko gham koi de gaya

Aas jo lagayi hai, aankh bhar aayi hai

Aas jo lagayi hai, aankh bhar aayi hai

Itna bhi koi, sataaye na rabba
Zindagi mein koi kabhi aaye na rabba

Her senses just became numb and she kept walking aimlessly.
